Makers Mark

Maker’s Mark maintain that they distil their bourbon to the lowest proof of any US whiskey distillery. This proffers a bourbon that retains a rich flavour. Developed by Bill Samuels Sr, he replaced rye with red winter wheat to reduce the burning sensation from the whiskey.

Tasting Notes 

NOSE
Initial sweetness – caramel, brown sugar – gives way to soft fruity notes and vanilla.

PALATE
More savoury than the nose suggests, with toasted nuts and cinnamon notes.

FINISH
Initially light but sweet spice builds over time.
