The third batch of Kilkerran Heavily Peated single malt is here! This cracking Campbeltown whisky was matured in a combo of 80% bourbon casks and 20% sherry casks, and was bottled up at 59.7% ABV. As you might expect from the name, this one packs plenty of peaty deliciousness.
Tasting Notes
NOSE
Roasted apples and poached pears, dusty oak furniture, a hint of espresso and some dried peels.
PALATE
Opens up with salted caramel sweetness, before smoke and oatcakes develop. There's a bit of flaky pastry dipped in coffee, and another helping of cooked orchard fruit.
FINISH
Drying smoke remains on the finish.
