Hazelburn 21 Year Old (2023 Release)

Hazelburn 21 Years 2023. Matured in 80% ex-bourbon casks, 10% ex-sherry casks and 10% ex-port casks. Last year’s edition was reduced to and bottled at the standard 46%. The 2023 edition is bottled at cask strength, but sits slightly lower at just 43.2%. Some very thirsty angels were involved in this one.

Tasting Notes

NOSE
Soft minerals, crushed mint, orange peels, nectarines, and cigar boxes, with lingering red fruits like cherries and raspberries, and faint farmyard notes.

PALATE
Buttery texture with distinct minerals, initial sweetness, robust earthy notes, bouillon broth, sooty maritime elements, a touch of black pepper, and hessian. Occasional sweeter citrus fruits.

FINISH
Medium length with gentle salinity, soft bitterness, and herbal nuances.
