A fascinating Special Release from Clynelish, which moves away from the distillery's classic waxy profile in favour of the rich, spicy, and darkly delicious world of sherry cask maturation. Specifically, this 12-year-old whisky was finished in Pedro Ximenéz and oloroso casks. It's also got the elusive Scottish wildcat, Felis Sylvestris, on the label as the distillery is located among its natural habitat. (58.5% ABV) (700ml)
Peachy with tropical and dried fruit, vanilla, orange peel, and toffee.
Very spicy, cardamon, and chilli pepper. Aromatic, creamy texture and sweet toffee notes, red fruit. Sweet rum and walnut notes point to lots of sherry cask influence.
Creamy, nutty – walnuts and almonds.
