A very special whisky from Benriach, Smoke Season is its smokiest whisky yet. While Speyside isn't well known for making peaty whiskies, Benriach have been doing so for years and Smoke Season shows off not only the smoky side of its spirit, but also uses both ex-bourbon and virgin-oak casks to add layers of creaminess and spice.
Tasting Notes
NOSE
Cinder toffee, BBQ-charred pineapple, dry smoke with a touch of peppercorn.
PALATE
Thyme honey, scorched bread, ash, fresh lemon zest, another hint of tropical fruit.
FINISH
Lingering smoke and porridge with lots of brown sugar.
